Introduction

Greetings! I’m Mark Severino, usually “Mr. Mark” to the kids! I’ve been an SLP since 2009 and have been working with children for my entire professional career, first as a substitute teacher, later as a social worker, and finally as a speech-language pathologist.

Being an SLP allowed me to combine two of my biggest loves: working with children and thinking about language. As long as I can remember, I’ve loved learning and learning about languages. The day I had the epiphany that lead to being an SLP was one of the greatest days of my life.

I worked mostly in the schools for my first decade as an SLP, helping kids ranging from preschool to high school. I was the lead SLP at my previous district in Arizona and a member of the bilingual SLP team. For the past 8 years I’ve also worked with private clients, in a variety of settings, including home and community-based, meeting at the library, park, you name it!

When I’m not helping kids with their speech, I enjoy watching cartoons with my kids, walking my labrador around Brookline, and hiking in and around Pittsburgh!
